I'm enjoying the emergence of color in my yard after such a dreary winter and early spring. The bouquet below is an example of the abundance of peonies blooming now. I didn't stake the plants in time this year so I'm having to cut blooms as they begin to open and bring them in. I probably enjoy them even more in the house than I do on the plants!

My large weigela puts on a spectacular show every year. I can't wait for my red one to get this showy!
And finally I just happened to be out near my neighbors large pine trees and noticed these baby cones. Aren't they sweet?

Beautiful Mary O., don't you just love summer, specially after such a long winter.
HI Mary,
Your flowers are beautiful! That weigela bush is very lovely too.
Can't wait to see the red one.The baby pinecones are so cute! I love pinecones. They make nice Christmas ornaments. :)
Wow that is quite some bush. It looks great!
The baby pinecones are so cute :)
The peonies are *fabulous*! Mine are nice and tall, but nowhere near ready to open yet. Now I'll be checking them every day! I've never seen a weigela that big!
Ohhh.... your peonies are so lovely. I only have a couple of sprigs up on mine so far... barely a couple inches tall. I hope I get some beautiful blooms this year..I did last year.
OH, I LOVE that weigela bush..so pretty! Nice photos, Mary!
Oh your garden is truely looking lovely what a splendid show of flowers and your peony is beautiful. I love the flowers but I just can't get them to grow properly in my garden.
I don't think I have ever seen baby pine cones before. I guess I don't notice them until they are mature and laying on the ground. Your peonies are so very pretty! I agree- they look better in a vase in your house where you can enjoy them. And the weigela is beautiful. Your yard must be a beautiful sight with everything blooming.
Weigela bush is amazing! Beautiful blooms!
Our peonies just started to open up.
