We have had more than enough snow already this winter, as have many areas of the country. Add to that the back to back blizzards we had last winter, and you'd think I would find nothing beautiful in a coating of snow. But sometimes you are given a small gift of beauty, and that's how I felt when I saw this lonely leaf lying in the driveway as I went out to get the paper one morning recently. Nothing earth shattering, just a spent leaf from a neighbor's tree. But I was struck with the perfection of its frosting of snow that gave it one last moment of glory.

hey Mary..... how's it going over there....?? Still winter? just checking up on you and Roy....

I forget exactly where it is you live.... so ...it could already be spring there....and some bluebirds will be winging their way home to roost. Sure wish we had some right here in town. Apparently they do come to special boxes built about 30 miles outside of the city on the south side... so... maybe I will make an effort this summer...to try to find where that is. I haven't seen the area...just heard about it....but, I will have to find it.

We are having bitter cold and whipping winds... windchill-36C today.... I ain't going out! I'm working on a little Rumpelstiltskin character for a storybook challenge over and Cloth and Clay Dolls.... the only site I belong to anymore....
