Photo of the Week

Spring is making a valiant effort to arrive in Maryland, although my yard does not give much evidence of it yet. There are still vast patches of apparently dead grass that didn't survive the winter drought conditions. The forsythia is struggling to pop out some blossoms, but they're very sparse this year. Maybe I'm expecting too much too soon? We'll see.
But here's what has come forth so far.

However, one faithful houseplant has given me hope for brighter things to come. My poor sweet little orchid has favored me with several buds and a couple of beautiful blooms already. I really MUST have the poor thing re-potted soon.

Spring is late here too Mary -- I think we just have to be a little more patient this year. Your orchid is such a thing of beauty. Oh my!

you lucky bum.... real flowers...and outside....sigh..... a while for us yet. Well, a long while really. But...you can always enjoy my daffodils when they finally pop through the ground, because yours will be long gone by then... you will be on to roses by the time I get some daffs ...hahahha......

Those flowers look lovely in your yard! Yhat must bring a big smile to your face.

I repotted my orchid last year, and so far this year she hasn't bloomed-drats! I should have left her alone. This is the first time since I brought home that she hasn't bloomed.

Linda, that's exactly why I haven't had the courage to repot mine yet. I'm going to take it over to the garden center and let them do it, so I'll have someone to blame (besides myself) when it doesn't bloom again!

Your flowers are beautiful! Love the orchid too. I have never had luck with them. I think, I just drown the poor dears. :)
But my roses are all doing very well and my other outside plants.
