WIP Bluebird project
Well, it's obviously not MY bluebird project, but Momma Blue's own work in progress. I saw her leave the nest on break a little while ago and took the opportunity to monitor the nest again. I actually had the presence of mind to take my camera this time and got this shot of the eggs. You can't see the fifth one very well, but it's there. They look huge here, but they're about the size of a small marble. Momma and Papa are going to be pretty busy feeding this brood if these all hatch!

ohhh so cute and tiny...and blue too. Or do they just look pale blue in the dim light of the birdhouse? I didn't realize bluebirds had blue eggs... I need to Google bluebirds now...off I go... no wonder I get nothing done around here.... always off Googling something....
Yes, they're a much prettier blue than they look in this photo. But the sun was so bright I could hardly see what I was getting on the camera.
This is almost as good as a live-cam Mary. I hope you get to catch them hatching. Or would that be too intrusive?
I'll have to watch carefully and try to get a shot of them before they get too active. I wouldn't want one to jump out of the nest when we open the door. But I plan to do try it at some point.
WOW! The eggs are so cute and a lovely blue too. So sweet!
