Photo a Day Jan. 4

You'll have to bear with me for yet another bare tree. I have a strange affinity for winter trees. I love the tracery of the bare branches against the sky. Some trees I love during the spring and summer when they are fully leafed out, but many I like best when they are bare. I hardly notice this one in the summer, but I think it's quite beautiful in the winter with its graceful symmetry against the blue of the sky and the dark evergreens behind.

Yes it is very beautiful just bare, I find bare trees appealing too unless it is a pine tree and then they always look more beautiful covered in snow.

I love the bear tree as much as in leaves. It is the best time to learn the trees :) Very lovely photo!

Yes there is a starkness and beauty to it. I guess I never really took the time to look closely at bare trees before.

From an artist's perspective its interesting seeing how the tree looks bare to get a better idea how it looks like when covered in leaves.
This looks a lot like my dads front yard. Same type of tree and same bushes lol

Oh I love the bare tree against the background of the pine trees and the sky. Beautiful. Blessings,

I agree - it's a beautifully shaped tree. What kind is it? Perhaps a linden?

The tree is beautiful and it is always nice when we can appreciate the little things in live and things that others don't see. That is the nice thing about the camera.

Oh how pretty! Love the contrast of the bare tree against the evergreen tree.
